• abdominohisterotomie — A surgical procedure consisting of incising the uterine wall via a transabdominal approach (entering through the belly wall), primarily used for delivering a fetus (cesarean section) or removing intramural tumors. In historical psychiatric clinics, this maneuver was studied in relation to severe surgical shock or the occurrence of post-cesarean puerperal psychoses in emotionally predisposed patients.
